We might not be down in the bayou, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate Mardi Gras in Omaha! We’ve found the best places to celebrate your Fat Tuesday in the metro this year.
Head over to Omaha’s largest Mardi Gras party this Fat Tuesday over at Crescent Moon this year. For a $5 cover, you’ll get in to Crescent Moon & Huber-Haus and have access to tons of free beads, t-shirt giveaways, hurricanes on tap and delicious Cajun food. Go downstairs to Huber-Haus for live music from The Prairie Gators starting at 8:30pm.
For the jazz lovers who still love a good party, Omaha Lounge will be the place to be on Fat Tuesday for a fun time. They’ll have free beads and masks, and drink specials on rum hurricanes. Live music for no cover starts at 7:30pm. If you come in the best costume, you can expect free drinks – so get creative with your outfits.
Go downtown to Jazz for lunch this Mardi Gras and you’ll be treated to live music from 11:00am – 2:00pm by Sweet Tea Duo. Jazz is Omaha’s Louisiana Kitchen that offers tons of Cajun food that everyone will love. Stick around for dinner and listen to more live music starting at 7:00pm.
A new restaurant in Aksarben, Herbe Sainte, will be hosting a pre-fixe Cajun meal of shrimp & oysters, gumbo, jambalaya and of course – king cake! Wash this Cajun feast down with a delicious frozen hurricane or frozen Irish coffee. If you come dressed in your Mardi Gras best, you’ll receive free beads and a shot on the house.
If you want to celebrate Mardi Gras, but don’t want to commit to an entire evening of partying – head over to Voodoo Taco for some delicious themed tacos. They’re offering their Taco of the Month, The Mardi Gras. It has coconut shrimp, Andouille sausage and delicious JuJu sauce. Head over for lunch or dinner throughout the month of February.
There will be a live jam session at Aromas celebrating Mardi Gras. Feel free to bring your own instrument and join in on the fun! There will be no cover charge and all ages are welcome.
For a full-on Mardi Gras party – head over to Jerry’s Bar! They’ll be celebrating with $5 hurricanes and fun music all night long.
Ameristar will be celebrating across the river in Council Bluffs with a concert by the famous George Walker and his N’awlins-style jazz band. Listen to blues, jazz and R&B to celebrate Fat Tuesday this year.
